Welcome to Edusandà, where we're dedicated to creating unique educational experiences and fostering improved health outcomes in The Gambia. Building on over 15 years of impactful work, including our legacy as saluxdevelopment, we collaboratively engage with schools in The Gambia and Switzerland (PHZH), and support local health initiatives. We're driven by community needs and the belief that together, we can build a brighter future.
Igniting young minds: our educational initiatives
At Edusandà, we believe in the transformative power of education. We offer tailored workshops for teachers, covering vital topics like Non-Violent Communication, effective lesson planning, and classroom management. We facilitate invaluable assistant teacherships between schools in The Gambia and Switzerland, fostering cross-cultural learning. Furthermore, we organise engaging play events at Gambia's first and only toy library and regularly host crafting sessions with children in schools, bringing joy and creativity to their learning journeys.
Nurturing well-being: our health projects
Our commitment extends to enhancing health infrastructure and care. After visiting various hospitals in The Gambia, we identified a critical need for baby beds, many being outdated or broken. Through the generous support of private funding, we commissioned local artisans to construct new, safe baby beds, significantly improving maternity care conditions. We also collaborate with individuals from Switzerland eager to contribute positively to health initiatives in The Gambia, bridging international support with local needs.
